EU4MEDTECH at HealthTech Adria 2025

The HealthTech Adria Conference, held on 2–3 October 2025 in Split, Croatia, is a flagship regional event dedicated to health technology and innovation in Southeast Europe. It brings together healthcare professionals, technology developers, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to exchange knowledge, explore emerging trends, and build collaborations that accelerate the translation of innovation into real-world healthcare solutions.

At this year’s conference, EU4MEDTECH was featured in a panel session, contributing to discussions at the intersection of medical innovation, regulation, and clinical evidence.

The panel session “Navigating the Development Journey of Medical Devices” examined the key steps required to move medical technologies from early concept to clinical application. The discussion focused on regulatory preparedness, clinical evidence generation, and the role of cross-sector collaboration in enabling safe and effective innovation.

Three members of the EU4MEDTECH consortium contributed expert perspectives to the panel:

  • Ana Marušić, Project Coordinator of EU4MEDTECH, Head of the Center for Evidence-Based Medicine, Professor of Anatomy, and Chair of the Department of Research in Biomedicine and Health at the University of Split School of Medicine
  • Arsen Ivanišević, CEO of Xiphoid and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospital Split
  • Inês Urbano, Medical Devices Regulatory Affairs Consultant at Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN)

Their insights highlighted common challenges faced by developers of high-risk and innovative medical devices and in vitro diagnostics, reinforcing EU4MEDTECH’s mission to co-develop practical, evidence-based regulatory tools that support safe, efficient, and patient-centred innovation pathways.

The full panel discussion is available on YouTube for those interested in deeper insights into regulatory strategy, evidence requirements, and real-world development experiences across Europe.
